Following her emotional breakdown, Azula was put in a mental health facility to recover, though she eventually joined Team Avatar on their search for Ursa, as part of her secret agenda to betray them and usurp the throne from Zuko. Sometime after her exile, Azula returned to the Fire Nation Capital in secret.

Kiyi was the daughter of Ursa and Noren, and the younger half-sister of Fire Lord Zuko and Princess Azula. Born following Ursa's exile from the Fire Nation Capital, she initially grew up in Hira'a, ignorant of her royal family connections.
Azula's blue firebending was meant to symbolize that she was more powerful than Zuko as well as a firebending prodigy, and also to easily distinguish her attacks from his in their fights. She was initially intended to have an arranged marriage during the third season.

Biologically, Zuko is the son of Firelord Ozai. However, Ozai's older brother, Iroh, is more of a father figure to Zuko than Ozai is.
Azula is the power-hungry daughter of Fire Lord Ozai and the younger sister of Prince Zuko. Twisted and manipulative, she delights in torturing her brother and she is a deadly Firebender in her own right.
