In order to obtain final standing in a course, a student must receive at least a passing grade (50%)/P/CR in that course. A Grade of “F” is a failure. There are no supplemental examination privileges in the Faculty.

A 3.2 GPA, or Grade Point Average, is equivalent to a B letter grade on a 4.0 GPA scale, and a percentage grade of 83–86.

In UTSG the cutoff was 86% last year (2018) (i.e. you need an average of 86% in two first year courses to make it to second year otherwise you don't make it). UTM post requirements are a bit lighter, but high nevertheless. Bottomline, it's doable but quite hard. It is very tough for all programs.
