Nike’s Sketch Graphic-Equipped Air Force 1 Gets “Racer Blue” Accents

Doodles, scribbles and sketches are all important parts of a sneaker's design process, and although they don't usually see the spotlight, Nike Sportswear's Air Force 1 "Sketch" puts them front and center. The AF1 "Sketch" has already released in "White/Black" and "Black/White" colorways, but now it's scheduled to receive its most sporty makeup yet: a "Racer Blue"-accented style. In line with past makeups, the base of this sketched Air Force 1 is constructed of classic tumbled leather — here presented in a crisp white. Hand drawn-style "Racer Blue" embellishments are then scattered across the upper, ranging from a large Swoosh on the lateral quarter to outlined text branding on the heel. There's also a small Swoosh embroidered on the lateral side as well as a proliferation of technical text, ranging from "Variable Width Lacing System" to "Nike Air Force 1" and "1982," the year the Force first came to market. Branded tongue tags add a final touch of flair to the ..

Continuing its hot streak of collaborations after teaming up with The North Face for a FW19 capsule collection, ROA for a vibrant SS20 footwear collaboration, and Timex for a 40mm Fabric Strap Watch, Los Angeles-based streetwear imprint Brain Dead apparently has a collaboration with Reebok Classic brewing behind the scenes. As teased by designer/founder Kyle Ng on Instagram, the shoe looks to be a spin on the Reebok Classic Leather, updating the iconic silhouette with a slew of fuzzy materials in earthy tones. The shoe’s upper flips the original tumbled leather upper for a robust mesh, with the paneled cages that run through the mid-foot sections utilizing a clay-colored suede, while the panels running parallel to the lacing system have been crafted in shaggy brown suede. The same brown suede is featured on the tongue, which features a vibrant yellow tag with Brain Dead’s Head motif, as well as purple accents on the lining. The latest iteration features everything from “Aqua” to “Hot Red” color-blocking schemes. At the laces, “Volt” lace loops, “Hot Red” branding, and hits of “Aqua” can be found, with the left shoe opting for “Slate Blue” lace loops and “Hot Red” accents. Just as Nike did with the 2015 version for the silhouette’s 20th anniversary, the shoe nods to the model’s “Gunsmoke/Grey Fog” colorway at the lateral sides, with the OG's gray mudguards switched for white. This is finished with black outsoles, and Air Max sole units that feature the aforementioned accent colors. Take a look at Nike'..
