Normally known for its rough-and-rugged stylings, Reebok's DMX Trail Shadow is exploring its softer side with a new pink-tinted makeup. Combining "Ashen Pink" and "Smokey Rose" hues, these hefty hikers bring a dash of delicacy to a tried-and-true trail style just in time for summer.
This tonal color palette allows the upper's smorgasbord of materials to stand on a level playing field. Shaggy suede is used on the heel, midfoot, tongue and mudguard. This is contrasted by smooth and supple leather on the toebox and an overlay that wraps around the heel. A textured nylon is used on the midfoot's super-sized Vector logo, and more bold branded accents are present on the tongue. A signature cut-out plastic midfoot cage holds everything together.
Wide midsoles are dressed in a light pink shade, and use Reebok's DMX Shear technology — a wavy plate that provides responsive support — in the heel and under the arch. This is acknowledged directly by a small Shear badge towards the rear, and outrigger outsoles that extend well past the upper's boundaries complete the look.
The Reebok DMX Trail Shadow "Ashen Pink/Smokey Rose" is available now at retailers like END, priced at $175 USD.
